Data Processing

Visiting calcimo generates personal data that is processed, such as IP addresses processed by the hosting provider and session data required for the application to function.

Data-minimizing usage analytics

To improve calcimo, selected usage events are recorded without cookies and without storing a complete IP address. The processed data consists of the requested path, event type, optional calculator and button identifiers, the referring website (domain and path) or the source category derived from it (e.g. search engine, social media or AI tool), campaign parameters from the opened link where present (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign), browser family and, where available, a two-letter country code provided by the hosting or proxy infrastructure. Before storage, the IP address is truncated and processed in pseudonymized form using a hash that changes weekly. Processing is based on the legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in evaluating usage and the technical quality of the service in pseudonymized form. Analytics data is not used for advertising, is not shared with analytics providers and is deleted automatically after 90 days. Cookies and consent

calcimo uses technically necessary cookies: a session cookie (calcimo_session) and a security cookie against forged form requests (XSRF-TOKEN), which are deleted when the browser is closed or the session expires, an optional cookie that keeps signed-in users logged in, and the calcimo_consent cookie, which stores your cookie choice for 12 months. The legal basis is Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG in conjunction with Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Any further cookies and services that are not strictly necessary are only used with your consent under Section 25(1) TDDDG and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page; a withdrawal applies to the future.

Google Analytics (only with consent)

If you consent to statistics in the cookie settings, calcimo uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga and _ga_<ID>, stored for up to 2 years) and processes in particular the pages viewed, time spent, the referring website, information about device, browser and screen, the approximate location (derived from the IP address; Google Analytics 4 does not store the IP address itself) and a random identifier of your browser. The purpose is the statistical evaluation of usage in order to improve calcimo. Google signals and ad personalization are disabled, and the data is not linked to a Google account. The legal basis is your consent under Section 25(1) TDDDG and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Google processes the data as a processor; data may also be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which an adequacy decision of the European Commission exists; the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply in addition. The data is deleted in Google Analytics after 14 months at the latest. You can withdraw your consent at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page; Google Analytics will then no longer be loaded and the analytics cookies are removed. Email updates about new features (newsletter)

When registering or later in your profile, you can voluntarily consent to receiving emails about new features, tips and offers from calcimo. Sign-up uses a double opt-in process: it only becomes effective once you click the link in the confirmation email. As proof of consent, your email address, the wording and version of the consent text, the language, where you signed up (registration or profile) as well as the time and IP address of the sign-up and of the confirmation are stored. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, and for the proof data the legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in being able to demonstrate consent (Art. 7(1) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, via the unsubscribe link in every email, in your profile or via the contact details below. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 30 days. The proof data is deleted together with your account. Independently of this, you will receive necessary service emails about your account, such as for confirming your email address or account activation.

Entry sites for the property calculator

check-kapitalanlage.de and check-kapital.de are separate entry sites for calcimo. Their quick calculators process your inputs in your browser; the sites do not store them. When you open the detailed calculation, only the values listed on the respective page are temporarily passed to calcimo in the link fragment. Visiting the entry sites may generate technically necessary server logs at the hosting provider. When you move to calcimo, the referring domain may be recorded for data-minimizing usage analytics.

Calculators embedded on other websites

Other websites can embed calcimo calculators using a script. When the script and any font files load, the calcimo server receives technically necessary connection data, including the IP address and requested file. This data may appear in server logs. Calculations take place in the browser; inputs are not sent to calcimo. The widget sets no cookies and creates no usage profiles.

Links to social networks

Links to YouTube, TikTok and Instagram do not load content from those platforms on calcimo pages. You visit the external platform only when you click a link. Its own privacy information then applies.

Embedded YouTube videos

calcimo displays titles and locally stored thumbnails of the latest videos from its YouTube channel. The server periodically retrieves the public YouTube feed. Simply visiting the page does not connect your browser to YouTube. The player from youtube-nocookie.com loads only after you click “Load video”. This sends your IP address, browser data and the page visited to Google. Google may use cookies or similar technologies and process data in the USA. The legal basis is your consent under Section 25(1) TDDDG and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent applies only to the video you select and is not stored.
